The super eagles players expressed their sympathy to the victims of the collapsed church building that claimed scores of lives while the state governor, Udom Emmanuel narrowly escaped death
Vincent Enyeama, A former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Ogenyi Onazi Nigerian midfielder, and defender William Troost-Ekong were among those players that took to the social media to offer their condolences to the people of Akwa Ibom state and families of the Uyo church victims.

Onazi said: “We live each day hoping for God’s protection, as life is worth nothing to some people. Pray for Uyo and Istanbul Lord have mercy.”
“My thoughts with our Governor @MrUdomEmmanuel and everyone who lost someone in the collapse of the church in Uyo. May their souls RIP. Sad.
